Hello there! We are Wickies! A small but mighty beeswax candle shop of sustainable treasures. I’m sure you’re wondering, what is a Wickie? Wickie is shorthand for a Lighthouse Keeper, tending to the wicks of the lighthouse to provide light throughout the night. Lighthouses go hand and hand with growing up in Michigan, and our name is a testament to honor that hard work that continues on.

During my years in art school on the lakeshore of Chicago I worked in a flower studio that often needed candles for events, it was there I was tasked to and learned how to make my first candle (and many, many more). Down the line I spent a summer on the family farm, one that my family has tended to for four generations, where I learned the in’s and out’s of beekeeping. Tending to the bee’s, seeing the products they produce and how beneficial they are to our everyday lives, it was then and there that Wickies began.

That’s why our candle shop Wickies is dedicated to providing the cleanest burn on the market; using only natural and local ingredients, and sustainable packaging for our hand poured beeswax candles and melts.
